Karen Yager

Since 2006, I have been a Realtor® specializing in residential, land, and farms, and have earned seven designations to better serve you. My background has prepared me well for real estate. I started milking cows on the family farm at age 8, so I learned early how to work hard and take responsibility. I progressed to driving grain truck and a combine for many years with Hansen Harvester, my family’s custom harvest operation. In fact, I put myself through college with my earnings by saving carefully. In real estate, I will be as careful with your most valuable asset—your home. Client satisfaction is my Number 1 priority.

In 1990, I founded CompuTec and worked diligently to develop databases and provide computer training to hundreds of local businesses and individuals. With a Master's degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences (counseling and business consulting), I am prepared to be a good listener and a cheerleader for clients. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, I enjoy helping Spanish-speaking people realize their dreams of home ownership. With my designation as a Certified International Property Specialist, I assist buyers from out of the country to take advantage of local and national opportunities.

In 2001, I founded the Northwest Renewable Energy Festival. The Walla Walla Valley possesses extraordinary opportunities to use our local natural resources, namely solar, hydro, biomass, and wind energy. In 2007, because of our broader reach beyond renewable energy, we changed the name to the Sustainable Living Center (SLC), which is located at the Water & Environmental Center at Walla Walla Community College. Since 2009, the Sustainable Living Center has received over $1 million in grant funds every two years to weatherize homes in Walla Walla, Columbia, and Franklin Counties. We also provide educational outreach to schools and to the public. Another of our community projects is the Builder's Re-supply, 551 Lockheed Ave at the Walla Walla Airport slcww.org/builders-resupply, where you can donate or buy new or used building or home materials at a low cost. What a great way to keep over 30 tons of good materials out of the landfill!

I am very passionate about energy efficient homes that utilize fewer resources in construction and during their lifetime use. In real estate training, I completed my Eco-Broker designation so I can assist clients in making more informed home choices.

In 2012, I founded www.HappyHikers.us, a local hiking group that I started because I am passionate about hiking, wildlife, and everything in nature. Sign up and come on monthly hikes with the group. You’ll feel great!

I specialize in updates, repairs, and staging homes for faster sales at better prices. My real estate team helps to prepare homes so they are move-in ready. I also work with investors to help them determine the right location, price, and updates so they can make money when renting or selling.
